The latest short film by Denis Rovira, LAZARUS TAXON, has been selected to premiere at Sitges Film Festival, 2008.
I wrote the score this summer, and we mixed in 5.1 surround just last week.
For more info on the film at Sitges, see here.
On the 9th Oct, the film will be shown right after the handing out of the Méliès D’or Prize.
NEWS! Lazarus Taxon has been named by Variety Magazine, in an web article on Sitges highlights.
“Don’t overlook the competition shorts. Many — including “Lazarus Taxon,” “Cotton Candy,” “Full Employment” — are said to be standouts.”
Looking foward to an exciting competition.
Here is a great little film by Boris Undorf entitled “OLIVIA”, who made it all in a week… and I had to write the soundtrack in one day (!).
The plot:
a young woman’s quiet night alone in her apartment turns to terror with the arrival of a stranger on her doorstep.
Credits:
Written & Directed by Boris Undorf; Starring Abby Wathen & Micah Cohen; Cinematography by Senda Bonnet; Edited by Brett Baldridge; Original Score by Simon Smith
Its entered in an online competition, and all votes count up to sunday 14th. Check it out!
UPDATE! we won the final week, and are into the finals. Thanks everyone.
Boris is working on a film for the finals right now. Lets see what happens…
Some news about one of the films I have been working on.
“Clocked”, the short film by Michael Sharck that I scored in June, will be showing at the Raindance Film Festival in Soho, London, on the 5th October. Its a great, gritty urban drama about betrayal.
I just recently got a copy of the final mix, with some very interesting sound design mixed with the music.
